Email marketing is one of the few digital marketing disciplines that has been around long enough to come close to establishing some true best practices. But just when you were feeling kind of smug cause you had it figured out (for the most part anyway), along comes social media and mobile, creating a whole new set of variables to test and factor in

Now, I don’t buy into the theory that email marketing is on the way out despite many claims of “Email Marketing is Dead!” but certainly mobile and Social Media are shaking things up. Lucky for us, the organizations, ESPs, with the most at stake in the changing landscape proactively addressing what new developments mean. A local agency here in Portland, eROI recently unveiled a new report titled, “Email Marketing, On the Go.” It takes a look at how the new mobile inbox is changing the way email marketers need to approach their campaigns.

For this report, eROI took a look at how the subscriber bases of 20 big brands are interacting in the new inbox environment. Based on these insights, the report outlines some simple steps marketers can take to ensure campaigns are ready for the mobile world. If you plan do email marketing in 2011 I highly recommend you download and check out the full report here. >>>
